* Did you activate Vista?
* What graphics card do you have?
* If you open, say, My Computer, is the border translucent like lightly colored glass?
* Have you tried changing the theme using Control Panel->Appearance and Personalization? Try going to Classic and then back to Aero.

Let us know.

I have activated Vista.
I have a G Force 6200 LE graphic card
When i open my computer the top thing is bluish translucent.
I have tried going to personalize and changing it from classic to aero and vice versa.The only thing that happens is that the bluish translucent thing changes to whitish grey and vice versa.

I meant to get back to you, but kept overlooking this thread. Sad

If, when a window is not maximized, the borders are almost clear like this then Aero is working. On the other hand, if it is frosty like this or blueish like this, then Aero is not enabled or not working properly. The full functionality of Aero depends on your graphical performance (it adjusts automatically), and the 6200LE is on the low end of the scale. Check your Windows Experience Index through the Control Panel and let us know what the two graphical scores are. Aside from that, how much VRAM does that GeForce have on it and are you using the default drivers or did you download updated ones from Nvidia?

Let us know.
John

P.S. I'll be sure to respond this time. Mischief
