Vista Product Key - Toshiba A100 Laptop

Jul 2, 2007 5:03AM PDT

Recently bought a laptop for University use by my daughter (Toshiba A100 'Equium', 120GB memory). Came with pre-load Vista Home Premium. Basic question is how do we secure her a Product Key for any possible software recovery problems, and how do we make a Recovery disc (afraid I'm an XP user for many years, not Vista experienced). Laptop bought in UK (PC World) who's Sales Rep (Week-end staff) was frankly as helpful as 'diddly squat'.

If It's A New Computer, The Vista Product Key Should Be...

...on the bottom of the computer.

After reading a little at the Toshiba forums, it appears like you should have received a Recovery Disc with the computer but that depends on the computer model you have. (Unfortunately, the Toshiba site is not the easiest to get around.) If you did not, you may need to contact Toshiba to get one.

To make Recovery discs on the Toshiba, you might be able to create them yourself from the Recovery partition. Have you checked for such an option? The link below should help:

Hope this helps.
