Vista problems with Graphics card

Mar 25, 2011 1:43PM PDT

I have:
Vista Business
Intel Motherboard
NVIDIA 7600GS graphic card
Hyundai 13" monitor
VeiwSonic VP2030B 19" Monitor

The 13" will boot using the Motherboard connection. The VS will not do anything.
When I turn off and instal the NVIDIA and change the BIOS to PCIE mode the VS will not work at all (blank. The 13" partially boots then it says "VIDEO MODE NOT SUPPORTED", I cannot get around this to install the video drivers.

Any suggestions on how to get the OS to find the new card and how to get the VS monitor to work once the card works or on the MB connector.

I am at my witts end.

Thanks

Is this a fresh install?

If so, I wonder if you installed the motherboard drivers. These would be required before some systems can identify and use a video card. But since no monitor seems to work on the video card, said card may be dead.

It is now as I was told by NVIDIA to load the drivers as drivers were to be installed as new after old drivers were wiped out or cleaned off existing system. The graphics card did work in past with some conjoling for 4 or 5 hours to get the right settings. What and where and how do I install the MB drivers? This is the first I have heard of these. Can I do it with the graphics card not installed and using the MB monitor hookup?

This is what you wrote.

"Intel Motherboard"

Since there are some hundred models, you would have to be more specific. As to 4 or 5 hours, that's amazing. Why would anyone buy such a card?

Intel MB is a Intel(R) Desktop Board DG33BU. I did not buy this card. It came with the free computer. The card used to work just fine then all of the sudden would act up when I rebooted. If I could install and get rid of the 'VIDEO MODE NOT SUPPORTED" and load the drivers with the 13" then all would be joy.

Good news?

http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/server/dg33bu finds there are drivers for that board.

I want you to think back to the old days of installing windows and do the same thing we always did. Install the OS, the motherboard and then the other drivers.

It is still possible this video card died but let's get those motherboard drivers installed.
