Vista will be slow on your computer with only 800 MB of system RAM ( if you have an Intel GMA 950 that share 224 MB of VRAM with the system ).
Upgrade your RAM or install XP on it ... If you would have a dedicated GPU like the ATi Mobility Radeon X1400 with 128 MB of dedicated VRAM, then, the computer could be faster, but because you have an integrated IGP which has poor 3D performances, it steals up to 224 MB of RAM, and that slows down the computer.
I can't decide what to get. Will Vista run fine with these specs?
Is Vista even stable?
Or should I get Vista, and hope the system runs fine?
Here's the basic specs:
Intel Core Duo Processor 1.66 GHZ
1 GB RAM
I figured those were the only things that would truly affect performance. So will this laptop run Vista smoothly?
Or should I get the XP one?
