I just received an email from sage Software, manufacturer of simply Accounting,Peachtree and many other widely used accounting programs, informing me taht none of their products will be Vista compatible until the 2008 versions come out in the fall of 2007.

The Point

The point is that any accountants or small business owners using the most widely used accounting software had better not upgrade to Vista unless they have XP computers as well

Agreed. . .

I just read somewhere that MS is recommending that Vista not be used (yet) on mission critical systems. XP still works and will forever. As Bob asked, "Will XP be the new Me?"

I thought I asked a different question.

More on topic, I'm finding that while things may work the support staff isn't up to speed yet. That is the companies haven't developed the scripts that most support staffers use.

Today I'm thinking of that straw man from the Wizard Of Oz. What was it he said? "If I only had a brain."

Most support lines are filled with min wage script readers since common calls can be dispensed with the usual "did you plug it in?" But with how many versions of Vista and owners that are looking for help with printers but this is some accounting software you can see where a lot of catchup is needed.
