Vista not allowing WPA connection

I've got a Compaq SR5010NX Desktop running Vista x86 (Home Premium). I've been having this problem on and off for the past 3 months: My office wireless is WPA (TKIP), and this particular PC will connect for a few weeks and will suddenly refuse to connect to the network, saying the stored settings are not compatible with the network. Apparently Vista is forcing WEP encryption rather than WPA. This happens suddenly and without warning. Even if I delete the connection, go back in and create a new connection and set it to WPA, when I try to connect it still gives me the 'must be 5 or 13 characters...blah blah blah'. Is there something I can do to correct this? I should also note that I have 5 other PC's connecting wirelessly without issue.

Thanks in advance...
