Vista MP3 Installation Problem

Jul 14, 2007 6:21PM PDT

I have just purchased a HP Pavilion PC running Vista Home Premium. Whilst I have been able to transfer all my MP3's into the library of the Windows Media Player V11,the song's won't play because it claims that I do not have the DRM rights, even though I have also transfered the file with the backed up licenses into the "my music" folder. I must be overlooking something, so any help to resolve this issue would be gratefully appreciated.

It isn't as simple as copying over a specific file containing the licenses, for it would be too easy to commit piracy. The restrictions have been tightened under WMP11, so you'll need to reacquire the licenses as described in the WMP11 ReadMe article.

Hi John,
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction, it
look's like I'm going to be very busy, or maybe I will simply roll back to WMP10, which I prefer anyway!
Kindest regards,
Ian.
