vista mobile device center & office file conversion on sync

Mar 21, 2007 2:46AM PDT

I have a new Vista Premium notebook which I am syncing files with my Ipaq pocket pc. I had no problems setting up a partnership and communicating between the two devices. My problem is I use the pocket office files (.psw and .pxl) on the pda and I can't find a way to convert these to .doc and .xls files so I can actually use them on my notebook. ActiveSync lets me select file conversions on my desktop which I can then copy to the notebook but this should be an unnecessary extra step. Does anybody has a better solution?
