VISTA GRAPHIC RESOURCES

Jun 18, 2009 5:59PM PDT

I have a Problem with one of my applications on VISTA. The vista runs smoothly with the graphics card it has but the application does not run.
So,I want to know if I can modify the usage of this graphic memory available from graphic Card to reduce the stress caused by other applications?

Can I also choose a specific amount of memory to each application to smoothly run and also give more resourses to the interested application I like?

For example I want to choose a less memory for video application like windows media player and choose a high resource value for a game I want.

Thanks and best regards.

What graphic card.
Amount of memory on the graphic card.
Amount of RAM on the computer, and if it is shared with the graphic card.
What version of the driver.
What application does not run (or not run smoothly; in that case tell your complaint).

Details of PC

The Graphic Card is a Intel Graphic Card x4500 HD. Concerning the value of memory on the graphic card is 780 MB. But always varies based on usage. 2GB is present on the PC and it is shared with the graphic card.

It has a latest version of the driver. The Software is a Video editing software. I mean,it is a player which runs some different video format files to show some output. It is good on windows XP but does not run on my vista with service pack 1. But it performs farely well on some PCS but fails on the PC with the above given configuration.

My kid's laptop has 3GB RAM, and that 4500MHD (?) video solution.

Can you tell what application this is? Maybe I can try it. But some 3D stuff does run slowly. There is no cure I know of save changing machines since this is a laptop.
