Contact the companies helpdesk. Just a problem for them.
In Windows 98, the message area with me was available right away. In XP, there is a message like 'click here to enter a message' (and then I can type).
Apparently, in Vista there's still something else. Or you need to put the site in a different security zone. Or maybe the basic mode works and the advanced mode doesn't. Or you should use another browser. Or your Internet security software is blocking some control. Or IE is blocking some control (did you check if maybe the yellow warning bar appeared, that's easily overlooked). Maybe you need to download a newer version of .Net. I really can't tell.
Maybe some member has experienced the same problem as you do, and comes with a possible solution. Otherwise, it's a helpdesk job. They have the right resources to solve it. If necessary, they can try themselves on one of their Vista machines, or contact Microsoft for assistance. And - most important - once they know the cause they put it in their knowledge base and can help all your colleagues that experience the same problem. Just as well, they solved the problem already and can help you in half a minute.

PS. Once it's solved, can you post the solution here. Should be interesting.

I have a new laptop with Vista Ultimate, and access my company's e-mail server through "Outlook Web Access". I can log into my email account and read my emails, but when I try to respond (or write a new email), the area of the e-mail message to insert the text is shaded in.
The lines to fill in such as "To"; "CC"; "Subject" can be typed in, but the main text for the message can't be typed in at all.
Thanks for any help you can give!
