Vista Drops internet connection

Apr 30, 2009 4:58AM PDT

On occasion, my Windows Vista Ultimate system drops my Wi-fi connection. This has happened a number of times since I started using Vista on this computer. After a reboot everything is fine for a while, but then the connection randomly drops again. Sometimes it tells me that I'm not in range, even though the router is 10 feet away (I don't have an ethernet cable long enough to stretch the total distance of 12 feet or so), and sometimes it tells me that I have incorrect settings. I think it may be a driver-related issue, but I can't be positive.

My system is an Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz (April 2008 model), and the wireless router is a Linksys 802.11g device.

VISTA BROADCAST FLAG

Now before you dismiss it, this flag causes MORE issues than the Microsoft article lists. I have to do this too often.

Can you give me more info on Vista Broadcast Flag? Can you provide a link to the Microsoft article?

What I wanted to add was that I've found this to help.
