Vista doesn't display battery time remaining

Aug 3, 2007 3:44AM PDT

On my new Toshiba Satellite A200-AH7 laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium, when I hover over the battery icon, it only shows the percent remaining but not the time. I tried to download widgets that tell you the time remaining but they don't work for me either.

Check this LINK,then "Why does the battery icon keep changing?",then," Choose low and critical power levels for your battery."

One program comes to mind...

It's certainly not an exact science as the power drain varies based on moment-to-moment usage, which is why they usually just give you a percentage instead of an estimated time remaining. However, Right Mark Clock Utility is one option which may work for you, and being freeware is definitely worth a look.

Hope this helps,
John

That didn't work either

Apparently my computer is unable to calculate battery time. I tried RMClock but for battery life it says "N/A". I'm pretty sure Vista is supposed to show battery life remaining because it makes references to it in the help files.

I've looked at this before and found out

that some companies install battery meters the show % and some some time remaining. I've also found out most of them aren't real accurate anyways.
