Vista Compatability

by 1Chris / December 26, 2007 4:48 PM PST

With so many negative reviews of Vista, I thought I would never get it. But I'm thinkin about gettin a new pc, and though many offer XP, I figure Vista will be the status quo in the future.
My basic concern is can I run MS Office 97 on it?
I have a few other programs that I have to run like Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD 12 - which I actually got to run on XP - it's made for 3.1.

Reports are "it runs"

Beyond that there are the SAME ISSUES plus a few more than we found on XP. If you don't remember the Office 97 spell checker would fail and nothing you did could fix it. Also there was some odd issue with Access. So does it run? Yes. Is it fully functional as in Windows 2000 and prior? No.

The same issues are likely to be encountered on other titles.

for me with Vista. I have found no issues but have limited use to now. There is a little learning curve but the more I use and learn features the more I like it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
