Vista blue screen boot problem

May 14, 2010 1:32AM PDT

My gateway laptop that runs on vista will not properly boot, it will go to the blue screen with a short error message if i try a startup repair boot, and if i try a regular start up boot, it will continuously restart boot until i perform a hard shutdown.

Recently, it would freeze frequently when on the internet, and I would have no choice but to hard shut down and restart. After this happening a number of times, I would get a blue screen message, but I would just hard shut down and reboot. I have gotten multiple of these messages, but just ignored them. I'm not sure if this is the cause directly, but am sure it has something to do with it.

Help would be graciously appreciated.

Let's say this is a HP dv6000 or dc9000.

That would be all the explanation I would need. But I can't find such detail.
