Vista and old Games

I heard a roumer that Vista is coming out with an Update that will allow you to play old Games....Games all the way back and including the Windows 95 OS....

Is this true?????

some old games I miss used the Windows 95 and some other games were Windows 98...

I highly doubt it. To do so would be to compromise the Vista security model, and that isn't going to happen.

Any game that was written using DirectX should already work, and the rest will never likely work.

Not quite...

New compatibility updates to enable older applications to run under Vista are in the works, but nothing specifically targeted towards games and nothing as sweeping as enabling all old games to work...that does not register on the feasibility and ROI scale

I could not get XP to work with some Win 95 games that I still enjoy. The simpler solution was to find a Win 95 computer at a garage sale. 15 bucks later I'm up and running.

Vista isn't fully XP compatible for games. Consider yourself lucky if Direct X9 and before games run on Vista.
