UAC (User Account Control) can be more of an annoyance than a beneficial security feature, but after disabling it and using an administrative account you should be able to delete most folders, provided the contents are not in use. If it refuses you can use MoveOnBoot or Unlocker to forcibly remove the file, just like is occasionally necessary under Windows XP. I wonder, what folder were you trying to delete?

Hi all, not very often post to the forum but! is it me, anyhow got vista ulitmate, if your going to get it get the best is my motto anyhow installed it on my new computer, fantastic, installed like a dream found all the hardware, well that must be a first and a very welcome point, I must have be lucky, so were off to a good start, anyhow then it started I created a folder no problem here, but then I wanted to delete a folder (remember I'm the owner and have complete rights) no it would not let me, told me I have to be the administrator, ok then i thought log on as admin well yes in certain places you can, but not to delete a folder so pretty annoyed I formated (+wiped it) the hard and reinstalled vista this time I thought right on first setup I'll use administrator as log in name no it won't let you that reserved for the administrator so I went though the books and found this ucl or something that you can turn off (not recommended) thought ah I got you, noway so I've just given up, had vista on for about a month but its just got to many quirks, unloaded it and gone back to winXP sp2 and now I'm happy as larry, so how come microsoft has spent all this time and money on a program that's useless, I want a computer that does what I want it to do not what microsoft want it to do. regards Don
