Question

Visio Atmos Sound Bar

Aug 28, 2018 12:04AM PDT

I am really looking forward to this Sound Bar system being shipped next month. It’s fully Atmos compliant and should make my system complete. Visio hope you’re almost ready to making it available at retailers!

LOL! Oh, really?

Good luck with that (I can sell you the Brooklyn bridge for $9.99 as well).

LOL! Really.

Wow, the Brooklyn Bridge for $9.99. I don't think is plays Atmos, but maybe you know something I don't. BTW, if you read about Visio's sound bars, they generally get excellent reviews for sound bars. Right now I have Harmon Kardon's top of the line 5.1 system but it can't do Atmos at all. When released, we can read the reviews of this Visio system. Keep smiling.

If you want ATMOS...

....sell your HK gear and update appropriately. Soundbars don’t do true ATMOS- they are not capable(!)

Heck, friends don’t let friends buy soundbars unless it’s the only option available. Most people frankly don’t even take the time to learn about correct speaker placement to maximize their sound quality. In this sense a cheaper rig could possibly overtake many higher priced gear.

Should be interesting at least.

I've seen bars that accept the various encodings but you really can't tell much difference.

Let's hope the reviews flesh this out.

The Brooklyn Bridge did get sold twice a week for about 30 years so there is a market for such things.

I read about that guy

George Parker. He made some cash on that ruse(!)

About the encoding...

Exactly. If you toggle between stereo and Dolby Pro Logic (eg ‘faux surround’), you can get the gist of things.

There is simply not adequate separation to facilitate true surround sound.

That was how I tested. On to off to on, and

While it did sound different, nothing compared to a receiver 5.1 setup of almost any receiver and the usual Energy (hey, I'm cheap) speaker set.

Visio Dolby Atmos 5.1.4
Aug 31, 2018 11:16PM PDT

If you look at CNET’s Best Speakers. The ELAC is tied for top with a score of 91, the other Speaker is the Visio sound bar system also with a 91. I just got an LG OLED 65, top of the line. I want to get the best Atmos speaker system with it. In later summer Visio will release the Dolby Atmos 5.1.4 and hope it lives up to the hype.

Visio Atmos 5.1.4

If you don't think that sound bar speaker systems don’t provide a viable option, then you should read CNET’s Best Speaker Reviews. ELAC has the top spot with a score of 91. But is you look at the next speaker system, it’s a Visio Sound Bar and it also has a 91 score and a perfect 10 review score. This month Visio is releasing their Atmos 5.1.4 system. This is the one I was looking at to add to our LG OLED 65 TV. Looks like a great combination.
