Viruses & Security Alerts My memory is leaking.

I have a Dell Dimension desktop 4600 and it is a great machine or it was I should say. One day I opened an e-mail and four Trojans and a Virus came pouring into my comp and I didn't even open an attachment.
The bank screwed up with my check card so my subscription to my security firewall was down. When I did run a virus check these Trojans and the Virus could not be cleaned, quaranteened or deleted from my system according to the virus scanner. Can I shake them by defragging the system or should I just get another system. I found out I was leaking memory with memory booster which shows your actual memory you have to the memory you have now after all the downloading stuff you did from the net. It has a button to pick up needed memory but I had to keep hitting this button a lot. What should I do?

My thought here is to not rely on just one anti-virus tool. Scan with items like Free AVG AntiSpyware and if you can, Housecall. These coexist well with more if not all the usual antivirus programs.

Next, any "viewing" of email in Outlook (any version) is perilous as you have discovered. I alway suggest to turn off email previews and never open any unsolicited emails since Outlook (any version) is still open to possible code execution just by viewing the email.
