virus? when saving files windows restarts

something really weird is going on, i use my computer for photo editing alot, over 18000 pictures, first i noticed that certain photos will pop up in another folder, files on the desktop that are moved or deleted come back and now when ever I try to save a file windows restarts. i have a gateway, using windows vista home premium. i've run several scans of my virus software with no results. please help

Virus or Trojan

Hi:
Are you sure that your antivirus is reliable? What AV are you using? Try to download antimalware like "Malwarebytes".I think that you have a virus or trojan.

can't save

I tried to download but when I click SAVE it closes out the internet. I've been trying to find something that will just run on my computer but not luck.
also, I have a interactive service window pop-up reading "a program can't display message on desktop, symantic, path C, protect/sm.exe this was after I almost got it loaded but now I can't open my C drive to see the file or to remove it.

try to login using "safe mode with networking" and download malwarebytes. to access safe mode press "F8" several times when booting.
