Virus saying enter password

Asus laptop says enter password. Black screen with blue block says enter password. It doesn't read USB drive; however it does read the disc drive. I called ASUS support, they said I have a virus. How do I fix this as I can not get past enter the password, no boot screen or anything. I believe it is a bios screen password. I can try to enter a password 3 times and it shuts off.

I think they were way off on the assessment.

That sounds like a BIOS Password to me. Resetting that varies with make and model. Sometimes folk tell me the model series which is not good enough when it comes to exact procedures for a model.

OK, resetting the BIOS password part 2. Some companies will not help unlock the laptop unless you prove ownership. This has worked wonders to reduce Apple laptop theft.
