Before connecting to the internet, do the following
In start menu, select run, type cmd, hit the enter key, you are now in a dos box, type shutdown-a
close the dos box, open an internet connection, and download stinger.exe from NAI, start the downloaded program and clean out all virusses, then download/install all the latest security updates from microsoft. You will have to force reboot your machine after this because you have disabled the shutdown services!! And last, but not least. BUY A VIRUSSCANNER and keep it updated on a weekly basis!

run your anti-virus program to find out the name and location of the virus. then go into safe mode and click start. click search. type in the file i'm looking for. then I delete that file. right click recycle bin delete all in recycle bin. restart and virus is gone. if you don't know how to get into safe mode;start your pc.as windows starts to load shut off pc and restart. it will then start up in safe mode and ask you what you want to do. using arrow buttons move up to proceed not using internet. left click. after a minute you will be able to do a search and delete your virus. If you are using Norton you will be directed to a page telling you this. all you have to do is print it out and follow these same instructions.
