Virus removal

Jun 11, 2005 7:05AM PDT

My Norton antivirus program identifies the virus by name as Download.Trojan but their efforts to repair, quarantine or delete the virus have all failed. Now what? I'm using Windows XP and generally use Firefox or IE.

Ideas.

1. Try again in Safe Mode.
2. Housecall.
3. Turn off System Restore since it could be there and there is no way for norton to remove such from there. Turn SR back on when done.
4. Not cleaned? Head to the Virus forum.

You must have the old Microsoft playbook for phone support?

Format and reinstall is "last resort."
