Virus R.Proffitt

I tried your suggestion on my IE 6 problem downloaded Adware scan,Housecall and came up with three virus
Trojan Byteverify
Badtrans.B
Magistr.
I had my Norton scan first time did not find them read that needed to set scan for all files did this and took 2 1/2 hours to scan tried to auto repair but would not let me would not let me quarntine the infected files ,any good suggestions appreciated.
System has been crazy for a couple of weeks.

please can anone help me.i tried suggestion. but notting helping me i got avg. 6.0virse procetion on my computerat 5;00 i was on line and my computer told me i had a virse everonr on line said put in the vault it want go there. i tryied this several time i run this problem serval time a day i scan everything please help mekyteacher40033@yahoo.com

While I know a bit about the OS, virus removal is documented at the various web sites and there is no need for me to duplicate such in this small space.

If you can't follow the link I supplied to the Security Forum, then type the name of the virus into http://www.google.com and look for Symantec and other antivirus company postings about the one in question. Often they tell you how to remove it.

To repeat, such web content is best not duplicated in this small space since if I did, it could be out of date in a short time or just a copyright violation.
