Virus - help needed to get rid

Mar 4, 2004 1:38AM PST

I have the Trojan horse Downloader.Stubby.A virus in file
C:\SystemVolumeINformation\_restore-[30670607-727F.......exe

AVG tells me to run AVG for windows to get rid, but when I do it's not picking it up. What should I do?

Files in SystemVolumeINformation are UNTOUCHABLE unless some special settings are changed. But to remove this one, turn off System Restore and turn it back on.

Start, Help and Support tells how to do this as well as most Antivirus vendor web sites.

To turn off System Restore
Open System Properties.
Ensure that the Turn off System Restore check box is selected.
Notes

To open System Properties, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System. In the System Properties dialog box, click the System Restore tab.
If you cannot turn System Restore off, your domain administrator might have enforced administrative system Group Policy on System Restore.

then rescan with avg then turn restore back on
