virus check

Nov 30, 2004 1:37PM PST

I have mcafee 8.0 virus scan on my xp. I would like to know if I can virus scan any downloads that I do? If so, how do I do it or set my computer up to make sure it scans before it is on the computer.???

Can I scan cd's so no bugs are on them and if so, how does one do that.

Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

Well, with Norton, each file that is accessed is automatically scanned. It might work that way with McAfee.

To manually scan, I think you would just right-click the file or folder in question, and click "Scan" or something of the sort. Hope that helps.

Either right click, or open up McAfee and choose the "Scan" option, then navigate to where the file or CD is, then click "Scan now", or OK, whichever McAfee's option is.
