Given the insecurity of files on clouds you have a lot more research to do before you begin copying your files there.
Also, your files are still not safe as we open our old textbooks to the section on backups. We need no less than 3 copies in 3 locations. One is of course on the remote site and 2 more is at our location. And that's the bare minimum. We need 3 copies locally because if we had 2 copies (original and duplicate) we fall out of the backup state if we lose one.
So we're up to 3 local copies and at least one off site.
With that out of the way we have to consider that such off site backup is open for inspection or theft. You will never accept "your data is safe with us". That is, the proof is that it is not.
Can someone recommend some products for virtual data backup? I am researching products that can back up to the 'Cloud" and not ICloud, everynight.
