Virginian Charged in Bush Assassination Plot

WASHINGTON ? A Virginian held for 20 months in Saudi Arabia was charged today with conspiring with Al Qaeda to assassinate President Bush.

Federal prosecutors said Ahmed Omar Abu-Ali, a 23-year-old American citizen, and at least 10 co-conspirators planned in 2002 and 2003 to either shoot Bush or, in a backup plan, to assassinate him in a car bombing.

Imagine his quality of life, or lack thereof, if placed in the prison's general population with an Al Qaeda label.
