Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo

How can i make this driver the main driver for my windows xp. i go to my sound window and it says "No Audio Device". i wanted to make the Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo the main driver so it will bring my sound back. just wanted to know how.

Goto->start->setting->control panel->audio&sound devices->verify that AC'97 is present and selected. If none, hit right button to show listings, select AC'97. If AC'97 was installed correctly before it should provide its own "sound manager" icon under the control panel, use that to select "vinyl" output. If none present or corrupted, delete AC'97 and reload from your mtrbd. drivers CD or google for it, but be sure its for your audio chipset that uses AC'97. Part of that install should include the "audio manager" and be available after the install. If not, then either you have an outdated driver or incorrect one. I can't stress enough that there are various AC'97 installs out there and possible OEM versions of the same. If OEM goto the support website of the system maker. If mtrbd. provided(self-build) then the mtrbd. support for that model#.
