Question

vine server - using mouse, switching apps

Dec 4, 2011 1:51PM PST

Hello: this is on PPC OS 10.5.8 (again PPC). I've set up a remote desktop which does not quite work "right." What's missing:
-the mouse stops working after a few seconds and I have to hit the vnc icon in the taskbar on the client, to get the connection working. So ques. #1:
-How can I keep the connection active, with the mouse continuing working?
Ques. #2: the app switching keys (alt-tab, equivalent to cmd-tab on Mac) do not work on the client to switch between apps. How can I get the app-switching keys to work on the server (the mac)?
-I cannot access the Dock by moving the mouse to bottom of screen, as I can when at the mac directly). Do I need to have the dock permanent visible if doing remote access?
-Ques. #3: this forum, while getting a lot of users, may not be the best place to post this unusual topic. Is there a forum for remote access, (not necessarily cnet), that will have users familiar with these problems?

systems: host: Mac OS 10.5.8 PPC, vine VNC server
client: w7pro, tight vnc viewer.

Thank you.

No, thanks for the idea. I figured this well-known app was bug-free..

-What about "logmein"? any positive experience? Thanks.

(NT) Sorry but I have yet to find bug free. Usable? Most are.
