Does ANYBODY know anyone that repairs ViewSonic plasma TV's? Bought one 2 years ago - out of warranty - no one in my area will work on it - called the mnf. - they refuse to give me a list of factory authorized repair centers since my unit is out of warranty - unless I send them $750 up front (no kidding). Help.

IS THERE a reason why anyone would purchase an HDTV from a computer company. Look at all those GATEWAY people who got stuck.

AND today HP and DELL are selling them. TRAGIC, for the innocent comsumers.

BUY HDTV's from companys known for TELEVISIONS!!!

Stories about Dells t.vsIam so sorry its an expensive lesson But I messed up also and it cost me big time. I bought my hi-def hooked up my nice progressive scan Sony d.v.d. player gave it away because of the horrible picture quality then I bought an expensive Denon unit which looked just as bad, I spent 11 months trying to figure what the problem was finally a dealer felt sorryu for me and let me try a new denon d.v.d. player with d.v.i. and h.d.m.i. output for the nite BAM BAM< beautiful picture so I sold my other denon for $50.00 at a total loss of over $700 Yes the only way to go is buy from major brand t.v.s good luck stewart

This Is A Very.....

.....sad story. You don't indicate where you live so I don't think anyone can help you. Even if you have the original box the frieght charge is going to be high. I'm thinking if you have an agressive personality and lots of fortitude you might try giving them lots of negative print on the internet. Both on these chat forums and on some of the complaint wesites. Also try the consumer advocate sites and maybe even appeal to the dealer you bought it from. If it is under 2 years some credit card companies extend the warranty to two years (a fact very few people know about until they read the fine print).

ViewSonic is, as was mentioned, mainly a computer monitor brand. The info I have which is about 2 years old indicates that Pioneer made their 50" plasmas and Hitachi made their 42" plasmas.

Please let us know if you find any solutions.

I believe CompUSA carries the Viewsonic TVs. Maybe you can try calling one of their stores for assistance.

Good luck.

Look in your owners guide, etc

If you saved any of your warranty papers, etc., there is normally a list of repair facilities for various regions, I would call each and every one personally and I would drag their name in the mud all over the internet. Only a pushy Dell salesman kept me from making the awful mistake that Stewart was referring to as their big unit has proven to be a hunk of doodoo. I'm glad I braved the horrors of Walmart Supercenter to get my 42" Pioneer plasma last year. D
