Common resolution comes in 1440X900, 1920X1200, and others. There is a big difference in price between the 900 and 1200. With monitor display being so small, my thinking is that a 900 resolution should be enough (my feeling only). But if you must have 1080p resolution, it's your money.
Assuming I have a Digital TV Tuner Card in my computer, and assuming I have a video card to handle HD content, and assuming I have some source of HD input, such as OTA signal, does it matter what kind of widescreen LCD monitor I buy if I want to view HDTV in addition to all of my regular PC usage.
What I am getting at here is:
Are all LCD monitors progressive scanning?
and if so, then at a resolution setting of 1080 x (I forget)wouldn't I essentially be getting 1080p, i.e. HDTV resolution?
