This can be tricky. When you say blue color are there any words on the screen or just a blue screen? Some TVs go to blue screen if there is no input.
On your laptop you may have use a special function key to get it to send the siginal to your TV.
One thing to keep in mind the DVD will not look as good on your TV as it does on your laptop. Though it will look better in PAL than NTSC. John

2? Many TV OUT (puts) from laptops/others are disabled due to license issues. mpegla.com demands a few dollar payment for the second output.
