ads. It seems like he said he would prefer it if all of the ads would stop so that attention could be shifted to the future. By that, he included moveon.org and other Democrat efforts.
With the Bush Campaign publically denouncing the Swift Boat ads, and
describing Kerry's Vietnam Service as "admirable" - once again the
Vietnam Vets find themselves sold out by both political parties for
political consideratons. This is a sentiment being voiced by individual
veterans and vet groups across the nation.
Most vet groups perceive the Swift Boat ads as being directed specifically
at Kerry, and not as supporting President Bush. As such, the Bush
Campaign had no reason "to take sides". These ads may well have been
financially supported by "republican" dollars, as no democratic dollars would
have been made available, but that doesn't mean that the ads are supporting
President Bush's Campaign.
No one in no way is going to "stop" the 527 activity by either party. 527 activity can
oppose as well as support.
