What changed?

What changed on this computer since you used to be able to play videos?

What computer is this, make and model, and which Operating System?

Do you mean videos where you have the video file stored on your computer's hard drive, or videos you can play in a web browser?

Codec update

This is a typical problem with video codecs. They need to be updated. Search in Google K-Lite codec, and download it. After the installation everything should be OK.
