Cut and paste deletes the source so when we can't lose files, we never cut and paste but copy.
As to crazy, if the source does not have the files to copy over then we need a little more detail about the drive the files should have been on. If this is the common C: drive it will seem crazy as we CAN NOT CONTINUE TO USE THAT DRIVE.
We have to remove that drive to run apps like RECUVA (see google) on another PC and this drive as a second data drive or in some USB case.
We can not download or install any software to C: since it could wipe out the very files we want to recover.
If the data is on other than C: then we can install RECUVA to C: and scan that other drive for the files we are looking for.
-> All that aside how sure are you they are not on the drive?
I'd look for newest files. Example: https://www.howtogeek.com/219157/how-to-easily-view-recently-modified-files-in-windows/
Trying to transfer videos from my XR to my pc laptop. I plugged it into my pc cut/pasted several, but when I checked my destination folder, none were there.
How do I get them back?
Am I gonna need to DL some crazy recovery software? Hope not.
Thx.
