Question

Videos on line the screen turns black.

Apr 9, 2018 9:35AM PDT

Since a month, when I try to see a video on line, even in Facebook, the screen comes black. If is off line I can see it well. Could that be a VIRUS? I have installed Avast in my PC. Thanks for help.

Answer
It's usually something else.

I can't tell what browser you use but if I see this I google like this:

Disable Graphics Acceleration in Chrome.

When that works, it's a video driver issue but don't think for a minute the graphics card/chip maker fixed it. Sometimes you just have to turn this off.

This is why I shared the words I use on google. You can alter them to match the browser you use or OS.

That if I google "Disable Graphics Acceleration in Chrome." that you can't use all those answers?

Be aware that's how I did this before. I wonder what changed.

Just in case you ever want to try to fix it. It's a graphics driver issue. Not that it needs fixing but some want to fix it. I can't do that work for you as I don't have your PC to dig into.
