video with sound digital cameras

Oct 10, 2004 6:56AM PDT

hi,,
I am in search of an affordable camera that makes a video with sound; hopefully under $200, for a kid's Chritsmas present. It can be 2 or more megapixels
or less,,,doesn't matter,,,,
Thank you

Would it be ok to record at 10 frames per second?

The video is usually much less than 2 megapixels. Is the usual 350x200 pixel video OK?

My Minolta Dimage X20 does it but I would strongly recommend trying one out first if possible. I wouldn't call the little "pixelated" QuickTime files videos but they are kind of interesting.

video camera. Wouldn't the child get frustrated with a short segment of poor quality video? Kids may expect normal TV quality. Maybe a VHS camcorder would fit the bill?
