Video tape to DVD

Aug 13, 2006 6:17AM PDT

Has anyone used Presto Digital Converter by NuSoft? It includes hardware. I want to convert video tapes to dvd, getting them into my computer with a vcr. I have Win xp Entertainment on a new Dell XPS system, ao don't need expensive software like Pinnacle studio. Besides, Pinnacle reviews read like horror stories.
I am thinking of something like Presto for hardware, or a digital converter like Plextor ConvertX PX-AV100U Digital Video Converter USB 2.0 or the converter by Pinnacle used with Dazzle. I have Microsoft Moviemaker on my pc, and don't want to make a big production.
What would be the best way to connect and transfer from a vcr? Presto looks good, but can't find reviews. It also includes software that looks good if I don't use Moviemaker. Thanks, pakwrite
