Video not visible

Jul 29, 2010 8:01AM PDT

I am having a strange problem. I have audio in my clips but no video. I dont think it is a codec issue because even a basic avi from my camera is not working. I have tired many different files but same result. All the online video's from youtube, hulu and other steaming sites seem to be running absolutely fine. I have tried both Windows MediaPlayer and VLC. Both old and new versions. Installed uninstalled them and retried. Nothing seems to change. I believe it is some setup that got changed by our toddler banging on the keys but I have not been able to figure it out. Some help please. I am on Windows XP on a 3 year old HP laptop.

I am having a very similar problem...I am trying to play a specific avi file that I have and only get audio. My other avi files work fine. I have tried several different players with the same result. I thought all my players and codecs were updated but maybe not.

ahtoi thanks for your reply. I tried it but that did not help.
jmw627 my problem seems to be slightly different from yours. While your only one avi is not playing, I cannot play any video or DVD for that matter.
