Video IN To Media Center PC- How?

by gbmarc / February 23, 2005 10:14 AM PST

I have a Gateway Media Center 610 PC
All I want to do is to connect up a digital camera to the RCA or S-video IN connection and have the picture show up on the media Center screen.
I can make the physical connection, but there is no option anywhere that allows you to select Video In .
Does anybody have a clue how to do this?
Gateway email support was hopeless.
The User guide mentions selecting a "Gaming Input" option.
I have no such option. Help!

No Xfer - Just display this picture
by gbmarc / February 24, 2005 6:04 AM PST

No, no. I'm not talking about capturing or transfering digital files. I'm talking about using the Media PC like a monitor. I want the Digital Still camera picture to appear on the Media PC screen. OR I want the output from a VCR to display on the PC screen. No capture - just display!!

i.e I want the option that says ;"don't display the Windows desktop, display whatever video signal is present on RCA IN or S-video IN"
That's all. Happy

The solution
by gbmarc / March 6, 2005 3:43 AM PST

Ok, I found the solution.
The Gateway User Guide is incorrect. It says use the "Gaming Input" option on the Media Center User Interface. This option is hidden one level deeper under "Other Programs". If you select this, then the "Gaming Input" option is listed. You can then select S-Video in or regular video in AND hey presto! CLick on the sample video screen and the video will then fill the screen.
A pretty simple solution, and rather weird that Gateway couldn't answer this!!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
