Video In on Samsung 6300 series TV

by atone7 / October 2, 2010 11:22 AM PDT

I recently purchased a pioneer receiver for UN40C6300 TV. Unfortunately, I need to connect a single cable from the video out of my receiver to the TV in order to set up the receiver. Its' pretty straight forward. I connect the cable to the Video Y outlet and select source of Component. But it doesn't work. I tired to connect my cable box the same way and that doesn't work either. I am figuring there must be some trick here that I have not been able to see.

Does anybody have any ideas?

I have been using the HDMI connectors and so I haven't needed this function till now.

Thanks.

atone7,

If you are using an AV composite input, connect the video cable (yellow) to the Green jack of component input 1 on the TV, which is the Video "Y" you noted.

Are you also connecting audio to that input as well?

Also change your input to AV rather than Component 1.

Does that help?

AV was not showing up in the source menu. Nor did I see any documentation that indicated AV should show up.

Anyway, the key is the sequence of events. The AV cable has to be active before turning on the TV. Otherwise, the TV does not even give you an option to select AV.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
