We have a Canon fs200 camcorder. we have used the software it comes with to transfer the video from the camcorder, via a usb cable (during which the camcorder must be plugged into an power outlet), to the computer in some format that we can then use with windows movie maker and then burn to disc with dvd maker. the whole process takes a lot of time and makes my brain hurt. Is there any software I could buy that would allow me to simply take the sd card out of the camcorder, stick it in my computer, import to the editing program and finish from there? If there is not any one software that could handle it all, is there at least a less painful way to get my video to the computer and then onto DVD? We don't necessarily want or need to do anything fancy with the editing although if it was easier and less time consuming we may get motivated to try more in the future. For now what is most important is just taking out unwanted footage and then getting the good stuff burned to dvd. Oh, our computer is a dell inspiron 1525, intel core2duo t5450 1.67GHz, 2G ram, running Vista. Thanks in advance for your help.
