video drivers???

i have an evesham quest computer which is a few years old, i yesterday done a complete xp professional sp2 install, i have managed to get the drivers installed for the sound card, but i cannot find a make for the video card and am therefore unable install the drivers for this, which is becoming a pain as i am trying to install a game from disk, and have installed it ok, but when i try and open it i get a message saying ' failed to find compatible directx 9.0c' so i have updated this and now have direct x 9 installed, but it is still saying i do noy have compatible video. does anybody know how i can download the drivers for this? or even find out what video card it is. when i go to control panel, system properties, i go to device manager, and it says device unknown, i have spent hours trying to rectify this and have still not suceeded, any suggestions please would be appreciated.

Check in Device Manager and click the video device, it will upgrade the driver automatically. If this failed, you'd better make clear which type of your video card is. If you could not clear about this, you may search some tools which could test your hardware device.
