you could do this with a HDMI or component video distribution box, but then you would only be able to watch one thing at a time in all locations, plus you have to run HDMI or component to each room and this will be very pricey for all the cables, and youll also need someway to control the cable box from each room, with a universal remote with RF signals to an RF base station, and it will be very tricky to program the remote for five rooms.
this will cost somewhere in the 2000-3000 dollar range for all the equipment and then youll have to install it all.
its not worth it, I would just get five HD boxes from the cable company and call it a day.
WHAT IS THE BEST AND EASIEST WAY THAT I CAN DISTRIBUTE CABLE TV TO MULTIPLE SETS WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE A CABLE BOX FOR EACH TELEVISION AND RUN A TON OF WIRING?
MY HOUSE IS A RAMBLER WITH A DAYLIGHT BASEMENT AND MY THEATRE ROOM IS DOWNSTAIRS ALONG WITH A BILLIARD ROOM, BAR AREA AND A HOME GYM. UPSTAIRS IS THE LIVING ROOM AND THE MASTER BEDROOM. THESE ARE THE ONLY AREAS THAT I WOULD NEED TO DISTRIBUTE CABLE TELEVISION. SO A TOTAL OF FIVE HD LCD'S.
WOULD THE LINKSYS DMA2200 WORK IF I HAD MULTIPLE UNITS AND ONE OR MORE MEDIA CENTER PC'S? OR WHAT WOULD BE MY BEST SOLUTION?
