Question

Video conversion

Aug 26, 2011 11:44PM PDT

I know little about video files but would like to extract short scenes from movies to use as parts of formal classes. I understand that formal educational uses are authorized by copyright law, but what do I use to (How do I) do it? Thanks

Answer
You may want to reconsider that copyright thought

I think you will find that any unauthorized use of movies would be considered to be in breach of the copyright.

About use in a classroom.

It's a touchy area and one that a friend got burned badly on. They had made some product and the state laws allowed them to duplicate as many as they needed for the classroom.

They went to court with great counsel and lost. It's a lesson for anyone that thinks that edu anything as a product is going to sell well.

Remember these laws vary by country and state so we can never be sure.
