video codec help for XP

I am trying to play dvd's on my gateway computer(running on windows xp home edition) and I get an error message stating that I need t update my driver.I tried updating it and the new drivers couldn't be located.I tried the gateway site and that was no help. Anyone know how I can locate this new codecs. All my dvd media players do not work ie windows media player, roxio media player, power dvd and real player.

power dvd ?

That should be all you need. While you talk to "power dvd" support install VLC PLAYER and see if VLC PLAYER plays your dvd. Sorry but your post is far from complete.

thanks alot for the recommendation, the VLC worked. What do I have to do to use my other players? What more information do you need for my question to be complete?

But you should ask them why it didn't work. I can't guess since there isn't much else to work with. Ask yourself if the version and what else could matter.
