None of the listed OSes as supplied from Microsoft will fetch the latest drivers from http://www.nvidia.com Noteworthy as well is that some machines need the latest BIOS as well as motherboard drivers before all this works.
And beyond drivers, an overtaxed power supply can cause some machines to experience strange behaviours as cards such as the video card do a mini-crash and just don't behave proper.

This is in contiunation of the Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP that I posted last week BUT the advice as a result of the reformatting and restoring of my computer.
Since I had changed video cards, it was felt that we did not get the proper drivers installed for the new one. The following is a message I left at the end of the thread but since the subject is in regards to what Operating System to install, no one has seen this new question (my reason for reposting, hope that's OK). If you need to see all the suggestions left todate, the subject title was Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Here was my reply to a response left about the display color problems and our possibly incorrect drivers:
"I right clicked on my computer and scrolled through the list in device manager. What I actually had Gateway install prior to our location closing in Hickory, NC is shown under Display Adapter. It is a Nvidia GeForce2 MX 100/200. I actually have the software in the box. Would an install of this provide a fix to my display color problems? THANKS SO VERY MUCH for your help in advance. It's bad when you know just enough to keep getting yourself into trouble (LOL)!!"
