Make sure the video drivers are up-to-date. Also, the BIOS.
and life goes on...
I tried installing a new video card (nVidia GeForce FX5200 Video Card, PCI, 128MB SDRAM) in my in-laws presario 6000, replacing the onboard card that came with it (yes I went the cheap route). I uninstalled the display adapter and I made PCI the default in the BIOS, and yet when I reboot the computer with the new card installed, I get as far as the COMPAQ screen then a message comes up on the screen saying "no analog signal" and the monitor shuts off. If I remove the new card, hook the monitor back up to the onboard card...no problems.
Any idea what I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!
