Video Card Help

Nov 6, 2004 7:47AM PST

My mother in laws video card went out on her computer. I have no idea what type of card to buy her since she has an older computer.

Can someone give me some advise on what card I should get?

Computer is a Compaq Presario 5WV254

From my little bit of research into that model, it came with an AGP TNT2 card. These used Nvidia chipsets and were quite popular. I had one myself...an Elsa brand. My guess is that any generic AGP4 card will do. You may find plenty of these TNT2 cards in used computer stores. Nvidia has the reference drivers on their web site and I would use these with any generic card using the TNT2 card.
