Question

Video card fans Not spinning. Help? Card: Gigabyte 6970

Sep 19, 2013 7:04AM PDT

Specs
Video Card GIGABYTE GV-R697OC-2GD
Driver Version: 12.104.0.0
OS: Windows & 64 bit

The fans on my video card are not spinning and my card is running hot! I've dusted the card thoroughly and the compressed air is able to spin the fans.

According to SpeedFan my fans are running but in the case they do not spin.

What might be the problem here? How can I deduce this isn't a software problem and bring the card to gigabyte to repair.

Thanks in advance

Sounds very odd.

If it used to work, then it sounds like the usual failure. Let giga fix it.

I've yet to see any video card not spin the fans when we boot to the BIOS screen. No software required for that test.

May be it is not getting enough power from the PSU. Or just check the pins on the graphic card circuit board where the fan of graphic card is connected.
